Mens Haircuts
Whether you like to wear your hair high and tight or a little shaggy, there are always options for you. It could be where you get your hair cut or who by, what you use to style with or changing the way you style it.
A little hint: Always let your stylist/barber know your limitations. We all know you really do care what your hair looks like. Also, ask about products! We won’t tell anyone how many products you use to style your hair everyday. We know you want to look good and that is our job.

Guest Profile: Anna Gavrilov wears Ombre!
Anna is one of the most positive people I know. She is a dreamer and always goes for what she wants out of life. She loves yoga, hand stitching and being with her family. Anna is beautiful inside and out and I am so happy to call her my friend.
Last week Anna came into the salon to get her color done and we decided to try the ombre technique. It turned out perfect!
Wedding Season Hair
It is wedding season and I have the opportunity to work with some amazing brides this year. So what is in season for this years bride?

I love being a part of a brides special day and sometimes it is the only time of the day where she can sit down and take in everything that is going to happen.
To all the brides out there: Breath in every moment of your day, it will be over before you know it. Then you can start an amazing journey with your partner that is sometimes the hardest and most wonderful thing you will experience in this life time. Everyday is a choice to stick through the hard times and no matter what, your man needs to know you are crazy about him. Seriously, find any way to praise him. He will love you better for it.

Advice: Flaky and Itchy Scalp
This is a topic that a lot of people are embarrassed to talk about, but is very common conversation in my chair. Dandruff is caused by excessive production and accumulation of skin cells. The causes of dandruff are very wide spread. Stress, diet, age, hormones, and changes in climate are just a few.
So what to do about it?
First, you can start off with an anti-dandruff shampoo. There are many out there and it may take trial and error to find the right one for you. A few that I have tried or recommended to my clients are:
There are also tar shampoos that can help but beware that they may strip or alter that color of your hair.
How to prevent dandruff?
When using, massage the shampoo into the scalp, do not scratch or irritate it. Make sure to use shampoos and conditioners that do not contain harsh chemicals or fragrances.
Eat a healthy balanced diet. Avoid salt and sugar. Flaxseed oil is also known to help prevent dandruff.
Myths about dandruff:
Dandruff is infectious
Makes you go bald sooner
Only affects dark-haired people
Means you don’t wash your hair enough
If you have tried many of these options and your scalp is not clearing up you may need to see your doctor. Eczema and Psoriasis can also live on the scalp and must be treated by a physician.
